TEEN FITNESS
The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is proud to offer a variety of youth and teen programs committed to helping individuals maintain or work towards a healthy lifestyle and strengthen social ties. We encourage everyone to grow in the areas of physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Our youth and teen offerings are constantly being updated and added to this page. Check back frequently to see what new offerings are coming your way.
Youth ages 12 and older are welcome to participate in all Group Exercise classes with their membership.

Speed, Power, Agility Training - Level 1
This program focuses on teaching middle schoolers (11-14 years old) the importance of Speed, Power, and Agility as it pertains to their specific sports. The kids will practice these skills through agility ladders, plyometric workouts, proper jumping/landing mechanics, change of direction movements, and more.

Speed, Power, Agility Training - Level 2 & 3
Focused on teaching middle school aged kids (11-14 years old) the importance of Speed, Power, and Agility as it pertains to their specific sports. It is recommended that the child complete the level 1 class before signing up for this program.
Workouts will be more challenging: focused on increased resistance, multi-directional movements, incorporating more explosive movements, and more.

Strength and Conditioning | 10-13 Year Olds
This class is designed for 10- 13-year-olds and focuses on improving the physical fitness and athletic abilities of young participants through a variety of exercises and strength training techniques. The class typically includes age-appropriate workouts designed to enhance strength and flexibility while promoting proper movement patterns and injury prevention. The program is designed to cater to different skill levels, allowing kids to progress at their own pace while learning about fitness and maintaining an active lifestyle.

Youth & Teen Powerlifting
Our Youth & Teen Powerlifting classes are designed to introduce 10-18 year olds to the sport of powerlifting in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The class focuses on building strength and improving technique in the three core powerlifting movements: squat, bench press, and deadlift. The program emphasizes proper form, safety, and gradual progression to help teens develop strength, confidence, and discipline. Registration required.

What is FITNESS U?
A YMCA fitness program for 10-13 year olds during "schools out" days to develop overall strength, conditioning, and coordination. This program is geared towards all fitness levels. Expect everything from strength training, speed/agility/balance work and games during this program.

Track & Field Focused Mini Camp | Grades 6-8
Chippewa Falls YMCA
Monday, March 10 will focus on running and Tuesday, March 11 will be focused on the field. Whether you're a budding sprinter or a future field star, each day is designed to hone your skills and boost your confidence. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches who are passionate about helping young athletes succeed. Through engaging drills and interactive sessions, you'll not only enhance your athletic abilities but also make new friends and enjoy a supportive community atmosphere. Spring Break Fitness Fun and Games | Ages 10-15

Looking for a way to stay active and have fun over spring break? Fitness, Fun, and Games is a two-day camp designed to keep kids moving with engaging workouts, speed and agility training, and exciting fitness-based games. This high-energy class focuses on building strength, coordination, and endurance all while having a great time.
Participants will challenge themselves through a mix of dynamic exercises, team-based activities, and movement-focused games that make fitness anything but boring. Whether you’re an athlete looking to improve performance or just want to stay active, this camp offers a fun and supportive environment for all fitness levels.

Barracudas Swim Team
The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley Barracudas Swim Team combines YMCA and USA year-round competitive swimming and diving programs in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and the surrounding area. We promote the long-term development of athletes by offering skill instruction, training focused on improving fitness levels, and appropriate social interaction in a caring, respectful, and encouraging environment. More than 200 student-athletes learn and train at multiple locations: Eau Claire Downtown YMCA, Chippewa Falls YMCA, Chippewa Falls Middle School, and Eau Claire Memorial High School. The YMCA Swim Team welcomes swimmers ages 5 to 19 and all ability levels!

Youth Fitness Orientation
Those 12 years old and up are welcome to use the equipment in the fitness centers at both locations. We offer individualized orientations that help each child safely and appropriately use the equipment so that they can make the most of their time using the fitness center.

The program is designed to build self-confidence and athletic fundamentals such as strength, conditioning, endurance, speed, and change direction with a focus on injury prevention. Youth Performance Training is great for all ability levels as we cater to each person's strengths and weaknesses. This program can be general or sports-specific. We offer individual, partner, and small group options.
