Play, laugh, and make memories at the YMCA. With Child Watch, Parent’s Night Out, indoor play spaces, Family Fun Zone, and Family Nights, there’s always something happening for families. Many of these experiences are included free with a YMCA Family Membership, and some are open to non-members too. Whether you’re looking for active play, a little grown-up time, or fun together, the Y has you covered.

Where Family Fun Comes Standard

Child Watch

Child Watch is a FREE drop-in daycare service for ages 6 weeks to 11 years. This service is available for those with YMCA Family Memberships and the child must be part of the family unit. Child Watch has designated hours and care is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No food is allowed in Child Watch except for formula and all children a encouraged to bring a water bottle. Please note, this service follows licensing procedures but IS NOT a licensed childcare program. Drop-off your children with our caring staff and have a worry-free workout!​ See the hours at our different locations below!

Parents' Night Out

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley offers monthly Parents' Night Out Events at the YMCA Sports Center and the Menomonie Alliance Church. Activities include board games, crafts, gym time, movies, and pizza for dinner! Dinner will be provided for the children.

What is the cost?

Parents' Night Out is FREE with YMCA Family Memberships. There is NO cost associated with this monthly service.

How does registration work?

  • Registration opens one month at a time.

  • Enrollment will begin at 12:00 AM the Saturday after the prior months event.

  • ​Enrollment closes on the Monday prior to the event.

  • ​Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are available to YMCA Household Memberships only.

  • If the program is FULL, add your child to the waitlist and we will do our best to increase staff to get your child enrolled!

Anything else I need to know?

  • For children 3 years old and potty trained through 5th grade.

  • Pizza for the YMCA Sports Center from HyVee will be provided for the children.

  • Children of all ages are encouraged to bring a labeled water bottle.

  • This service follows licensing procedures but IS NOT a licensed childcare program.

YMCA Sports Center

When is this service available?

  • One Friday a Month! 2026 dates are August 21, September 18, October 16, November 20, and December 18.

  • TIME: 6:00-9:00 PM

Here is a quick overview of our evening:

  • 6:00-6:30 PM: PIZZA

  • 6:30-8:00 PM: Turf play & Sports Court games​

  • 8:00-9:00 PM: Movie time

  • 9:00 PM: Pick Up!​

When is this service available?

  • On select Saturdays - Next is Saturday, August 22

  • TIME: 4:00-7:00 PM​

  • August is FREE for everyone; Beginning in September 2026 Parents' Night Out events will only be free for those who have family memberships!

Eau Claire Downtown YMCA

Kids Gym

12 years and younger

Kids Gym is available at the Eau Claire Downtown YMCA to Members during business hours except for when it is used for our Child Watch drop off child care service or is reserved for a birthday party. Members wishing to use Kids Gym can check out the key at the service desk. Please note, children must be supervised by an adult when using Kids Gym.

Chippewa Falls YMCA

PlaySpace

2-14 years old

The PlaySpace at the Chippewa Falls YMCA is a haven for young minds, offering a variety of STEM-based games and activities that promote learning through play. Tailored for children of all ages with an emphasis on activities for 2-14 year olds, the area is equipped with innovative games and robotics, facilitating a hands-on environment to stimulate creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Also in the space, a large climb-through slide, blue building blocks, and interactive fort building supplies to get little minds and bodies moving.

Eau Claire South YMCA

Powers Playspace

12 and under

The Powers Playspace at Eau Claire South is a bright, indoor play area designed for children ages 12 and under. It’s a safe, energetic space where kids can climb, explore, and play in a fun environment made for younger children. Perfect for rainy days or anytime you want an indoor place where kids can move, interact, and have a great time with family and friends.

The Bernard F. Willi Outdoor Pool and L.E Phillips YMCA Sports Center offers drop-in programming multiple times a week to get the entire family active, playing, and socializing.

Family Fun Zone

Family Fun Zone is hosted at the YMCA Sports Center for our littlest kiddos! Free to our YMCA Family Memberships and open to Non-Members for a small fee.

Family Fun Zone provides children and parents or an adult caregiver open play on our large turf field filled with toys, sports equipment, and inflatables.

 

Offered for children ages 0 to 5. Older kids are welcome as long as they are playing appropriately with the younger children. ​

A Group Activity is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays a 10:30 AM for those who choose to participate. Open gymnastics is offered on Fridays.


ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AND SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT.

  • WHEN: Begins September 8, 2026!

    • Tuesdays & Fridays, September & May.

Friday Family Night

Family Night is hosted at the YMCA Sports Center select Friday evenings! Free to our YMCA Family Memberships and open to Non-Members for a small fee.

 

Enjoy basketball, volleyball, soccer, yard games, inflatables and free popcorn. The Turf and back Sports Court will be open throughout the night.

ALL CHILDREN 17 AND UNDER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AND SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT.

  • WHEN: Fridays, September 11, 2026 - May 21, 2027 (Every 3rd Friday, Family Night will be CLOSED due to Parent's Night Out)

  • TIME: 5:00-8:00 PM

  • FEE (per person): Members: FREE | Non-Member per person (adults and children): $10

    • There is a $25 FAMILY MAX for entry.

    • Please see flyer below for dates that are not available for Family Night.

    • Note: Non-Members are required to have a YMCA non-member account and sign a guest agreement.

Tot Time

Tot Time is designed with little ones in mind! Tot Time is made for tiny tots to play and enjoy the outdoor pool—kids can safely walk in, sit, splash, and play in shallow water without any sudden drop-offs. The deep end, slide, and deeper areas of the shallow end will be closed during this time. 

All ages are welcome to come make a splash! Only shallow end swimming will be available. ALL CHILDREN 17 AND UNDER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AND SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT.

Early Learning Communities 

The YMCA Early Learning Community child care programs work to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities by developing the mind, body, and spirit through the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

School-Age Care

This state-licensed program offers children care where they can stay engaged in a fun, safe, and friendly atmosphere. Each site offers a unique program to help individual children develop positive self-esteem. Daily activities may include group discussions, group play, positive interaction, arts & crafts, homework help, and outdoor play.

Program sites located in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Elk Mound, and Menomonie.

Summer Camps

The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley offers Summer Day Camps for the children of the Chippewa Valley! We provide your child(ren) the opportunity to explore their interests and build positive relationships all while under the care of our qualified staff. With four convenient locations, we strive to provide a fun, engaging, and enriching program where the campers achieve success and build life-long memories of belonging and relationships! Our program focuses on social and emotional development, Y values, teamwork skills, & positive habits. Campers will also participate in weekly field trips to various locations.
